This picture shows Alfred and his family.  Alfred Edersheim was married to Mary Broomfield around 1846.

They had seven children as follows; Stephanie Christina born December 16, 1848, Mary Matilda born October 5, 1851, Julia Augusta born November 12, 1854, Marcia Louisa born December 23, 1856, Alfred Edersheim Jr. born in 1858, Elise Williamina born May 12,1860 and Madeleine Anna born July 17, 1861.

St. Saviour’s Dottery was built between November 1881 and January 1882.  The formal dedication ceremony for the church was held on 4th February 1882.

 

The church was founded by Reverend Alfred Edersheim, with the support of local landowners, farmers and parishioners.   Reverend Edersheim, a well known and respected religious scholar, was vicar of Loders between 1876 and 1883.
